The thing is that his demeanor has never really changed. He's sweet to his queen and those that are on his side. I think a king should have some backbone and be able pass on judgement without wavering. Otherwise if you're too nice to everyone you might get backstabbed for it at some point.

The only reason eastern empire is safe is because navier loves her homeland. If it was upto him, he'd made all the magicians magic less, leaving their biggest strength to ruin, then conquer the land. Now he is busy dealing with getting revenge on people who did navier wrong. Don't forget, the duke that rastha attach herself to is ml's friend.

I dont wanna seem like a hater but I low-key dislike the change in Heinrys demeanor. he used to be so nice and sweet but now he seems like he has evil intentions inside of him LMAO. I like sly characters, but he seems too intense. just my thoughts. still love him though!
