Yeah, but I don’t feel too bad for this one because he was abused as well, not that I justify or condone what he did. If we are going to talk trash (rightfully so mind you) about Kan Chan, I’d say the abusive coworkers should be be lit up with fire.
It would be different reaction from me if Kan had kept the abuse going, and not letting go of his victim Ex.
I do agree that many abusers get away Scot free. For this one, I see it exceptional, I think Kan deserved to be free from abuse and the hierarchical cultural stuff in Japan. He found love, and so did his ex.
so lets say a husband is abused at his workplace then goes home and beats his wife because of it. the solution to abuse is abuse?? no. the ex should have let go of Kan chan before beating him or quit his job. i have zero mercy for abusers. The workplace abuse can be a reason but not a justification. In the real world , he belongs in a prison.
I never said solution is abuse, I said there’s a reason it happens and the cycle should stop, which Kan Chan stopped it and ended their relationship, letting go of the one he hurt because he knew it was wrong. Also I thought Kan Chan is Hayashida? The abusive one.
I never condoned his actions. But there is always a reason, being abused to become the abuser. Prison doesn’t rehabilitate or “fix” abusers, if anything it just keeps them away from the victims which is good of course, but here Kan Chan took it upon himself and said: Go, don’t come back, we can’t return to how we were anymore.
That’s why I am lenient towards him. I do NOT CONDONE his past behavior, but I can look past it to SOME EXTENT. Someone who realized their wrongdoings and spent years reflecting, and mentally drowning over it. Versus someone who continues to abuse and hurt in general.
And your example of abuse is vague compared to the one I’m referring to (story wise). Does the husband continue to abuse and does he keep the wife at home, being controlling, and not letting go? Or does he let go, cries, apologizes, saying they can’t be together because of him hurting her?
If it’s the first one, obviously prison as he cannot be changed. That husband won’t even reflect or realize how bad he hurt another.
Mind you, I don’t justify abuse in any form.
I just think that the workplace abusers should also go to jail if Kan Chan (who has redeemed himself in some ways, redeemed as in character development in later stories, even if we don’t forgive him) has to go as well.
I was just saying that Kan was also a victim.
i still hate uke in second story.he deserves jail for doing that shit to yumi.
