    Im also confused but I think Hyun (red hair boy) knew someone in the past who stole money and got into debt. They might have put him as a guarantor since that’s the norm in Asian countries apparently. Pervy cinnabon is the “let me fix it” type and hyun is the “let’s pretend it doesn’t exist until it comes knocking at my door” type. Since those personality types clash, hyun is struggling and left. Other that that, I’ve got no clue. The whole past debt thing is just an educated guess from the context I could understand.

    I just wish the author didn't have to go in such a roundabout, convoluted way about it like I'm not gonna lie I still have no clue what the whole point of the childhood flashback was about and how that's gonna play into the whole hiding from loan sharks thing or whatever

    Same. It’s actually ruining the reading experience. Not everything needs to be subtle. Sometimes it’s nice to have the plot right up in your face.
