I totally agree with you. Sohan deserves so much better and his dad is a piece of shit and his mom abandoned him for selfish means. But Sohan's mother was a young woman estranged from her family after being manipulated into giving birth to a child that she presumably didn't want, then living under full control of her abusive partner for years until she couldn't take it anymore. I get the feeling that the face of fear she had after seeing sohan as an adult means that she wouldn't have been able to bear raising a kid that looks identical to the man that hurt her so much. Therefore, I don't think Sohan's mom is a good person but her actions don't warrant the worst thing ever. She already went through that being with Sohan's dad.

I acknowledge and get this point of view. however, I still personally despise her equally as much as I despise Sohan's father. having not known much about her past and upbringing—as an adult and a mother, her, abandoning Sohan to the fucker that she also solemnly know is a shithead is the worst thing she could've opted for. at the end of the day, she is his mother. and her actions, with the given information about her, to me is downright selfish and horrible. the power of neglect and abandonment is just as worse as any forms of abuse to an aching soul that Sohan was as a child and until now.
