I genuinely despise both of sohans family, yes including his mother, she literally fucking abandoned him in order to be happier, I can't stand parents who do that to their children. How can someone just do that?? I don't like that the dad is being a literal creep and finding out where she is, but she really needs a wake up call. Over the fact that yknow, she still has another whole ass child she just left with her abusive ex

FOR! REAL! I have been dying to have that shit emphasized. I am equally as fuming this whole time, they're literally in the same level of horribleness. none of them even deserve such title. all Sohan's painfully horrible outlooks (i.e., thinking he should do what's "proper" because it's "family" despite him not making sense of it all; being literally fucking lost and emotionally broken, rtc.) literally stem from their fucking shit. parenting nonexistent, and literal abandonment. they can both rot in hell for all I care.

I agree Sohan's "mom" is a bad person for leaving Sohan with her abusive ex. Abandoning a child is a horrible thing that will follow that child for the rest of their life. She just opted out on being his mother and left him.

But as fucked as what his "mother" did was there's a high chance she left Sohan because he looked like her abuser, which is fucked up but tragic when you think about it. A child she was practically forced into having, a child that cost her her family and friends, stuck in a home for years being abused with no one to help her. I'm pretty sure Sohan's "mother" was really young when she had him too and I'm pretty sure she was also fully financially dependent on Sohan's father.

In addition to her being financially dependent, I bet she didn't tell the guy she ran away with about Sohan or his dad. If you have a kid to take care of it makes your ability to follow someone much harder. If the guy rejects her over her kid, then she's homeless with a child or she has to go back to her abuser. It's not like her family would take her or her son.

So yeah, Sohan's "mother" is a fucked up and horrible person for abandoning her child with her abuser. But I don't think she deserves hell (mainly because I don't think hell exists) but also because she already went through it while she was with Sohan's "father", her being put back in the situation that caused her so much trauma wouldn't undo the pain she caused nor would seeing Sohan's "father" set anything right.

Also the writing of this so far is mmm yum. Like Sohan is ironically so much like his "mother" despite her absence. It makes me wonder what she even saw in his "dad" in the first place. In many ways Sihwa has traits of Sohan's dad in how they can be immature and possessive but obviously for different reasons. It shows the difference between these traits as a flaw in a good good character and the identity of a good bad character.

I understand that this is a tricky situation but no matter the trauma I genuinely cant make myself sympathize with someone who abandons their child with someone who they KNOW is abusive. I know she most likely went through shit too but she affected a whole other being who didn't even ask to be born either. But I do agree with what you say, I just can't get myself to sympathize with her at all

And it would be a lot less worse if she only abandoned him, but she abandoned him with an abusive asshole, who again, she knew was abusive

the power of neglect and abandonment is just as worse as any forms of abuse. I acknowledge and get this point of view. however, I still personally despise her equally as much as I despise Sohan's father. having not known much about her past and upbringing—as an adult and a mother, her, abandoning Sohan to the fucker whom *she also solemnly know is a shithead is the worst thing she could've opted for*. at the end of the day, she is his mother. and her actions, with the given information about her, to me is downright selfish and horrible. again, the power of neglect and abandonment is just as worse as any forms of abuse to an aching soul that Sohan was as a child and until now.
