Question for those who read the novel or KR version ending

For anyone who read the novel or KR version, Is ines happy in the end? Does she love carcel enough that shes happy to abandon the plan and stay with him willingly? Also was it her choice to stay with him or did he refuse to let her go?

I'm around beginning to middle and I like her and carcel together. I can see them working out but I just feel so bad that her plan isnt going well, since carcel looks like he probably wouldnt want to divorce her. her original plan was to become independent and I wanted her to achieve that. Cause even though I do like how much carcel cares for her, her backstory was so traumatizing I wanted her to be free. I dont care if they stay together or if she leaves in the end, as long as she is truly happy and was completely free to make her choice.

My ideal ending is she is happy and free WITH carcel but with how a lot of male leads are like I'm worried how he will turn out even though I like him now. I'm scared that he's going to know why she wants the divorce and will still refuse it. it would feel too shitty for me if the reason for them not divorcing is cause he didnt accept it. I mean it isnt the worse thing for her since I know she would fall in love and is maybe already slowly falling for him too but Idk idk I want her to express to him she wants to stay before any of that

Idk the only way I can see that happening is if he tells her he would accept it if she wants to divorce, but ines changes her mind and they stay together. can someone pls tell me what really happens ?

    Explanation below

Cárcel is the ONLY man in this story that would let Ines go if she truly wanted to part with him. In the first place, since marrying Carcel, it took mere six months for Ines to decide truthfully she doesn’t want to live without him and she abandoned her plan of 17 years. Independent? Readers and Ines seem to forget that she has a stalker throughout every timeline so far. Even so, as much as readers think they know Ines, the manhwa doesn’t do a good job of truthfully portraying her. Ines is a traditional aristocratic woman to the bone. Perhaps it’s because she was raised by such a mother but she’s thoroughly a noblewoman who is a product of her society.

One of the things that surprised me at first is the way she mostly followed Carcel’s lead as her husband during the first six months of marriage. Ines only took on the view of living life as a divorcee because, like she said in an early manhwa ch, her taste in men sucked. She married a man highly above her in the life that she thinks was her first and in the next, ran away with a man that was below her status. Both paths led to tragedy and that’s why she decided she wanted to live independently and not because she doesn’t like marriage and family.

The important thing is that Ines herself was changing in the first six months of marriage. It was the first time she married a man who was her equal and therefore they a true companion. One thing about this couple is that from the beginning of their married life, they always got along despite Ines plotting divorce. Author also chose a male lead that can handle Ines’s difficult personality. Just wait until readers find out all the hidden truth in this story. Some readers even come away from the story thinking Carcel was too good for Ines. I don’t think like them but I can see why they think that way and it’s because Carcel truly treated Ines extremely well over all timelines. They think it’s unfair that he gave more than she did. However, I think it doesn’t matter because she’s the one he loves.

Regarding her plan, it would’ve never worked because she didn’t take into her consideration the enemy. I’m glad she abandoned her plan before she recognized she still has enemies who threaten her plan because it shows she chose to stay with Carcel out of free will. Carcel is the best decision she has ever made in any life. Ines understands thoroughly and wholeheartedly by the end of the story to the point that she gives one of the most amazing love confession about him in the narrative. She ends up calling him her life, not once but three times. Korean translators on Reddit say that the word is so beautiful in Korean that it’s hard to translate it in English. By time Ines talks about Carcel being her life, novel readers know it is definitely true because by then all the hidden things were already revealed and all that Carcel did for Ines already proved that this man is an amazing husband, lover, father, brother and son. In the end, Ines even took the courage and protected her man from people who wanted him dead. She spear-headed the entire thing on a daily basis to protect his life on the battlefield.

And if that wasn’t enough to prove Ines choosing Carcel was the best choice ever, the manhwa has already reached the point where Ines admits that she was foolish for thinking of ever sending Carcel to another woman and she was foolish for not recognizing he had already become her reality that she couldn’t imagine living without. That’s just the beginning. This story has so much more to reveal and it shows perfectly why these two belong together. In the side story, near the end, Ines once again made some beautiful statements about her life with Carcel. She even admits that when she’s around him, she feels like she can whine about things she doesn’t like because it’s him. She also talks about how she’s lived many lives and she’s always lived somewhere but never felt that she belonged anywhere until she met him. While she has several homes now because of him and his family, wherever he is, that’s her home. She expresses other such beautiful sentiments and it’s thoroughly believable because the reader knows everything they’ve been through and seen how much they grew together as a couple.

She alrdy longed abandoned the plan after she woke up from that dream she had after he confessed to her. Her plan doesn't incorporate her own happiness so even if you wish for her to be independent, she won't be happy independent bc her plan was just to be alone just so she can die naturally. She didn't want anyone around her to effect her to make her unalive herself again bc she knows the unaliving herself was what is making her regress bc it's a punishment. Independence won't make her happy when the author wrote Ines as a ENTJ so she need people around her to be happy and Carcel the one who make her open up.

I don't even get what you're worried about Carcel for. What you mean "how he will turn out." Carcel is the kind of man who would even divorce Ines when he finds out about the painter bc he wanted Ines to be happy. He thinks of Ines' happiness as more important than his own feelings. In every lifetime he's like that. In 1, he even told the angel that he's ok with Ines being with another man as long as she's happy. In 2 and 3, he hid his feelings from her bc he hoped she could be happy with the men she was loving at that time Oscar and the painter. In 4, he even told the painter he will divorce Ines bc he was thinking maybe Ines might still love the painter. It's a good thing he didn't bc Ines loves him now and she got mad at him when he returned home bc he got hurt.

FYI this manhwa isn't a good adaptation to the novel if ppl still thinks she's only just falling for him and still trying to divorce him. It's like ppl didn't even read that she's imagining having a child that looks like Carcel and even telling Carcel to continue to love her.

Guys I'm really happy to read she truly love carcel and is happy staying with him but I get the vibe you're both upset with my "independent" comment. Maybe I didnt say it clearly enough but I was trying to convey I wanted her to be independent because at the time I stopped reading SHE wanted to divorce him. I also say in the end of my first comment my ideal ending is her being happy and free WITH carcel so dont worry I didnt want her to die alone and unhappy but thanks to u both for explaining what happens I'm really glad they both love each other and she abandon her plan

I left another comment above but I wanna mention that I wasnt worried how carcel would turn out because he seemed bad or anything, its cause there are a lot of MLs in webtoons that turn possessive and controlling in other stories so I hoped the author wouldnt do that to him. I liked him and didnt think that would be the case but Im paranoid from other MLs turning out badly so I thought to drop it in case things turned sour, that's why I left the original comment. I love how you described him though and see I was worried for nothing so thanks for telling me and leaving a detailed comment
