Iirc Xinlu will come back and holds a grudge against Ilay, they will even fight, Ilay hurting one of Xinlu's eyes and not sure I don't rmb exactly but I think he will fall in a cliff or something and that's where Xinlu will meet his actual partner in the story
Read this one day straight and reached chap49. I gotta say putting a third character there like Xinlu IS SOOO UNNECESSARY? If you think about it, Ilay and Tay would still meet and become acquainted with each other one way or another. And they'll still be just "acquaintances" in the first half bc of Ilay being a psychopath. You can't say Xinlu "deepened" their relationship as acquaintances either bc Tay literally said they could've been good friends if it weren't for xinlu(and we all know ilay just wants Tay's attention). Putting Xinlu there really doesn't make sense for me, also bc I hate this kinda trope. sure xinlu being there shows that Tay is gay and shit but he literally said it. Even without Xinlu the story will still flow the same. WHY ADD ANOTHER CHARACTER WHEN YOU'RE JUST GOING TO THROW THEM ASIDE ANYWAY?? THIS MANWHA FRUSTRATES ME SO MUCH!!
