i love BWAT's pretty semes (and pretty semes in general but omg pilgyeon?!?! still takes my breath away) and pado's beautiful face gives me life so i'll be seated every week
anyway, my theory is that they were close friends but pado had a crush on haeil and he confessed. haeil did not take it well, not sure if it was just a misunderstanding or haeil simply thinks it's gross that pado liked him. maybe haeil was also a weak teenager who didn't want to be considered gay and become a target for bullies. but now i'm thinking it might also be because haeil didn't want pado to be bullied so he thought rejecting him would help protect pado.
haeil told pado to stay away from him forever and somehow pado being into guys got spread around the school, so he was bullied and harassed. to the point that they smashed his leg so the harassment stopped.
pado clearly has not forgotten haeil and is still into him, he's just having his guard up because he knows haeil isn't into him and would probably break his heart again. haeil regrets what happened and want to mend their friendship. waiting to see how any romance could develop from this.
