Moment I saw fire guy for just a second I thought to myself 'is this guy with melanin Duke? Yay' and then I scrolled little down... Not surprised just disappointed
The author might've made the barbarians tan because they must work under the sun alot, not because they are evil or something.
This! Mercenary, Barbarian, Pirates, Labourers, male slave characters etc are tan from son but usually still Korean (looking)
But with the foreign envoy side characters or spice trade on the other hand.... let's just say they amp up the stereotypes for the 'exotic fetish'.
