Okay I’ve got a few thoughts, I guess. Overall this manhwa felt like one of the more pointless series I’ve read. The art was nice, but there was very little substance to the plot. The main couple got together quickly with very few issues. Later there were minor inconveniences that it appeared would be dramatized to create conflict, but no nothing happened. I typically hate pointless drama, but literally nothing else was happening. At the very least I expected there to be something.
There’s a love triangle tag, but that’s a vast overstatement. Rather than a love triangle, it’s more there’s the main couple, and some other guy that the MC was never interested in. Some people definitely prefer that (love triangles are not for everyone), but personally I would never consider this an actual love triangle. For that I think there would have had to been some type of relationship between the MC and glasses guy. But they barely had a single conversation with each other. How was I supposed to care that the glasses guy “liked” the MC? How was I supposed to believe he felt anything more than shallow interest and sexual attraction to him??
This is 50 chapters but they are incredibly short, so the plot is essentially nonexistent and rushed. The side couple had more depth, but I still hated them. On the bright side I was able to read this in less than four hours so that’s a win.
And I question the purpose of that trash side couple. If the author wanted to write about a toxic couple like that, annex them to their own series where they can get proper development. Don’t shove them in to this series centered on a more simple, sweet summer romance. I think a dynamic like that has the potential to be a decent toxic yaoi series, but that would require actual character development, actual screen time. Not 10 rushed chapters that are mostly the characters fighting or having sex.
I would have rather those two characters be completely absent from the story and for all that screen time to be spent on developing the main couple.
Tbh I will probably forget everything about this manhwa in a few months. Maybe even in a few weeks tbh. There are just very few distinguishing features about it, and it had an overall lackluster, messy execution.
