Ikr. It would be wonderful if she does have acting skills but they got overshadowed by her looks. However, after acting with ML, he acting skills increase and finally doesn't get overshadowed by her looks.
But I'm afraid they would make her have bad skill, and eventually boot her out of the drama to replace her with the cutesy girl who's been annoying every reader.
this would be the worst case scenario to me lmao please noooo
BUT! on a positive note, (1) the courtesan's image is supposed to be a wily, femme fatale who whispered in the mad king's ears from the shadows. and the childhood actress friend's image and typecast (even in the story itself) is an upright, strong-willed, first-love type of character. it would take her getting involved in something extreme like 'Confession of Priest' for her to shed that image & for that kind of casting to make sense. and i think the author is pretty good in keeping the character progressions consistent.
& (2) from recent chapters, it seems like the actress isn't talentless! the fact that she tries to challenge MC is a good sign showing there would be an interesting conflict between the two of them as actors in the future that MC would have to address to proceed with the show.
or maybe i'm being waay too optimistic, who knows lol. i just hope they keep this new character long enough for character development bc she reminds me of that actress MC slapped with a fish so long ago lol
the duality of her acting reviews, how she'll react to the MC, how she'll improve, if she's someone we'll dislike or love... it makes you actually want to read further. compared to the bland-ass cutesy mary sue archetype who only exists to be bested by the MC and fawn over him. like girl... establish your own life, stop existing for and setting your goals over one guy. i need a longer time-skip for this girl where she sets off somewhere to grow tf up and stop equating her acting career to her romantic life.
