In my language there's a word called "Travesti" (which could be translated to transvestite), and it usually refers to people who wear clothes meant for a different gender than theirs, but i'm not sure if it has a bad meaning in english

in english, at least in the USA, crossdresser is usually how we would say it. Transvestite isn't usually used, it's considered a bit rude, or a least out dated
