I would agree with you if Hyobin wasn't the one who literally asked Woo to kiss him and started the whole thing, I mean why wouldn't Woo confess if Hyobin basically just said he was jealous of him kissing other men?? That sounds like mutual feelings to me so him acting wish washy after that was so confusing.
Hyobin felt jealous over a situation that he wasn’t told about since they were friends. He asked Woo if he thought that he could kiss him and he was drunk, It wasn’t until later on Woo confessed anyways. Anytime Hyobin wanted some space or time to think, Woo wouldn’t let it happen.
Probably not the reason behind the artist since it’s bl but you do realize people can be jealous of their friends and still not be sexual attracted to them especially about stuff they’ve never known about.
We definitely didn't read the same story fam cause it was very clearly not a "friendly jealousy" he was upset about the kiss and not knowing about previous lovers I mean come on. Yes he was drinking, but he had those feelings even not being drunk the alcohol just made him admit them with no filter. Also him witnessing the kiss was LITERALLY the thing that MADE him start drinking in the first place.
Asking someone if they think they can kiss you and then when they don't respond pouncing on them and saying "if you don't wanna answer I'll find out myself" and then kissing them is very much not platonic love so I'm not sure what anything in your reply was meant to say bud
It was friendly jealous in the beginning and it turned towards Hyobin trying to get his thoughts together to see if he had feeling for Woo. It wasn’t Hyobin always avoiding Woo…..he literally wanted space to think things through about the situation between them and Woo felt like since he had an unrequited love for Hyobin that he could just rush the situation. The artist didn’t show much emotion in this at all, you couldn’t even feel the unrequited love that Woo had for Hyobin and the ending was so lackluster.…Hyobin being curious about a “what if” situation doesn’t mean he has romantic feelings for Woo and I felt like the artist didn’t show Hyobin having any romantic feelings for him.
We can go back and forth, both of our options will not change.
This is a discussion board we are discussing, idk why people always assume it's an argument lol. It doesn't really matter if your opinion changes or not I was just engaging in a conversation about a piece of fiction we both read no hard feelings.
I actually agree with you I don't think the feelings were expressed very well in this manga and I wasn't a fan of the ending either. I just really dislike the way Hyobin in particular was written that's all. I think that it was implied that Hyobin also had feelings for Woo and didn't know how to handle it so he instead made Woo suffer to make himself feel better. I feel like he strung Woo along and gave him false hope when he could have communicated what he was thinking. I didn't interpret Woo's actions as trying to rush the situation he just seemed hopeful that he actually had a chance since Hyobin showed interest. Also I don't think it was EVER platonic jealousy seeing as how the whole "kiss me" thing was literally the first thing he did after finding out Woo was gay.
Because it’s mangago and everyone is always arguing, most of my interactions on this site are always arguments especially the popular BL…..love or hate was a top one that made me not want to responding to comments much anymore but I still like writing my opinions on a manga I’ve read and know responses will happen. (I’ve been using this site since forever but didn’t create an account until I was an adult lol)
Anyways, the author intentions were to obviously create love since it’s a BL but like we both agree on, the creator definitely didn’t put it that way at all…..maybe they rushed the manga or it wasn’t their main focus. I don’t pay attention much when a manga is released unless it’s something that’s been in the making for YEARS so I can only compare it to “fight club” since I haven’t read the other work.
From my perspective, I disliked the way Woo was written. I’ve said it a bunch of times already; Woo never gave Hyobin the space he needed to figure out his feelings, he keep Hyobin in the dark about himself, he would somewhat guilt trip Hyobin with the fact he likes him and has liked him for 10 years which also gave me the feeling he was rushing/pushing for answers. I felt Woo was annoyed at Hyobin for not noticing he had romantic feelings for him, which I could understand since he probably didn’t want to hide it anymore but that still wouldn’t be Hyobin felt. Also it’s a two way street, Woo lacked communication as well. For the kiss Hyobin did in the beginning, again clearly it’s a BL and that’s why I feel you’re so strong on saying it wasn’t just simply jealousy but it’s in human nature to be curious…..that doesn’t necessarily mean Hyobin felt any romantic feelings but again obviously love would be the intention the artist/author/creator (idk what to call them) had for this BL manga.
All in all, it’s not my favorite and could’ve been done better. I like “fight club” way more and it seems like the author(?) does better with hookup type relationships and omegaverse. Omegaverse is pretty easy to deal with since most blame the pheromones and call it “love” unless the author took notes about their characters not feeling loving and using it for their other work ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
Oh for sure and I also have used this site since before I was an adult and I think that's why it's so hard to have an actual conversation because there are so many younger peeps on here
Although I don't fully agree with your interpretation of Woo I definitely can see where you're coming from because curiosity is definitely something that could play a part and the whole Bl forced feelings thing makes sense too but I just think that Hyobin should've been honest about that especially since there are actual feelings involved.
Oh god I totally agree about the author being better with casual relationships tho because the way they write makes their characters seem SOOOOO wishy washy and they never really confirm the relationships in a satisfying way, but for some reason I still kinda like it because the casual interactions make it more realistic. All in all I would say this was my least favorite work I've read from this author tho unfortunately :((
I didn’t like it much. I hate how people always feel only sympathy for the person with the one sided love. Woo-Chan liked Hyo-bin for 10 years and admitted he’s never seen him as a friend, after 10 years Hyo-bin just assumed the way Woo-Chan acted was his normal behavior and not romantic feelings since he’s been like that from the beginning. Hyo-bin never had bad intentions when pulling Woo-Chan kinda into his relationship but Woo-Chan obviously did.
After seeing someone as nothing but a friend and then them confessing their feelings is not only a shock but can be a burden. No, you can’t control who you have feelings for BUT it’s also not the other person’s fault or responsibility either. I feel like Hyo-bin felt cornered and pushed into trying to date Woo-Chan because he knew he would lose him altogether.
I understand Woo-Chan hiding parts of his life due to his feelings for Hyo-bin but to not at least tell him that he slept with Shinyoung is horrible, he basically let them create a bond and only felt guilty once Wooshik brought the situation up even though he didn’t fully understand it. Sure Shinyoung could’ve brought it up but it shouldn’t have been his place to tell Hyo-bin first.
Idk I just feel some are taking Woo-Chan side without even caring about how Hyo-bin feels…..I don’t just mean us readers BUT even the characters. Everyone would just blame Hyo-bin when the awkwardness/tension can between them.
