How is this even grooming? The demon is not raising him, he only meets him once a year on his birthday and gives him harmless presents and tells him Bibles and demon lore. Moreover he's not even suggesting anything sexual between them even in the slightest, he just wants his soul. If the child develops feelings for him then it's in his own volition and the demon has not much to do with it.
