If you actively seek, crave and enjoy sex then you aren't asexual by definition, and you can have functional nonromantic relationships if you're aro but if you experience romantic attraction then you aren't aromantic...also by definition. He might be demi-romantic which is on the spectrum but he's definitely not asexual.
no, asexual is the same as aromantic just with sexual attraction. It means you dont feel sexual attraction instead of it being romantic. Asexuality is a spectrum. there can be asexuals who enjoy sex wether for themselves or for their partner's sake, just like there can be sex repulsed asexuals.
