that would be a logical and refreshing ending. I personally would love to see it
lowkey kinda wanna see an alternative ending (bcos i know it'll all turn out fine at the end) where he does become a better person better in a way that he'll feel satisfied with who he is and that means it will take at least a decade (healing is not easy). no closure no communication no sht, just hopes and faith that they'll end up together. But they dont. The older guy ends up with somebody else (someone his age perhaps) and the younger guy will be left alone with himself, and maybe do things he was deprived of in his childhood, enjoy independence and the peace of solitude. growing old without a romantic partner tho may seem like a tragic end for people, is not bad at all (i am extremely introverted and i find solace in the abyss)
