THANK YOU FOR THIS!!! ISTG it's the downfall of every child ending plot I've read and I can't help but have a 'what in the all living hell is this?' moment when it does. It pains me （/TДT)/ like you've stated it doesn't make sense!! It's the fruit of their love
You are welcome lol I also fall "victim" quite often to such endings... Like the plot is going great and the characters development is on point only for the author to ruin the ending the moment the kid comes into view and ML suddenly veiws it like the biggest enemy or rival on Earth... Like common now... So when I find stories like this one who are great from start to end I tend to appreciate them more!!

The ending was so lovely!! I really LOVE how the author handled everything in the end and the ML's relationship with his son... Usually some authors will go ahead and create a childish rivalrly between the kid & the ML for the FL's attention or make the ML someone who is stoic and unfeeling & can only show warmth to the FL... Which I find unrealistic and unhealthy since this is their child and seed of love after all... So I love how that has been handled and also I love the characters overal growth through out the story!! This was a nice read!!
