Seriously I hate the FL the most here. It's disgusting how she used the ML despite knowing it full well what kind of person the ML was. Damn, like I get he didn't go to save your crush or whatever, but at least listen to him! He was at the battle field as well. HE COULD'VE DIED AS WELL!!! Him not going to save Dietrich automatically nullifies everything he did for her? And she literally didn't even know what actually happened there, how could she jump into conclusions listening to outsiders instead of just talking to him. And what kind of person Dietrich actually was to him? We don't even know. Chances are, he despised the ML just as much.
I really would've preferred if the three of them just died.
She strikes me as one of those people that feed off angstyish emotions because why take a child to use as a weapon, send him to war to help you achieve your revenge....
Come to think of it.
She is dumb in so many ways, why is the first thing you do after regressing is stab the prince and put a noose over your neck, now you got banished and NOW suddenly you're thrust with a perfect took for revenge??
Hello????
Author???
Was the story going to end anyways if the ML wasn't so conveniently at that place at that time???
What was going to be her great revenge plan from the cold far land after she was raped and killed
My blood pressure is increasing from recounting this
When the Dietrich "died" I was like okay, not needed but okay, then she ignored him after he came back from that darn war, I...I can't.
I wish I didn't read this story
My brain tends to keep annoying plots well and this one annoys me too much, now I understand fans who stalk and send dead birds to authors
I knew it was gonna have a terrible ending, I found the spoilers on discord and was specifically told not to read it if I wanna save myself some rage. But of course who listens who? The same thing happened with The Blood Of Madam Giselle. That ending still haunts me. I really just wanna talk to the author and ask them how it felt to ruin their own characters and their own story.
You have a LOT of misunderstandings about what happened. Without going into who's right or wrong, I'll just list off the facts here:
- Well firstly, she did try to talk to him and heard his "side", she just then went AWOL when other people that were actually at the battle confirmed he was lying to her again. It starts with her finding Dietrich's cloth on Wilhelm's sword. He had told her none of Dietrich's belongings were found, but she saw that and went crazy for a second. But at this point she gave him a second chance and he spun her a story about why he had the cloth, that he didn't have his memories at that point in the battle and showed some crocodile tears about "losing Dietrich too". But then the woman who gave Wilhelm Dietrich's belongings accidentally lets slip to Rein that there were belongings and another soldier that was there lets slip that Wilhelm took charge of the battle so well that it was like he knew what was going on happen and Rein realized that Wilhelm was lying and tried to kill Dietrich by letting him walk into an ambush.
- Wilhelm didn't "think Dietrich died too", he HOPED he did, as according to plan. He did think he was dead and was happy of that fact and was using it to manipulate Rein so she would look at him as a man instead of the boy she raised with Dietrich out of the picture. He is shown pissed when Dietrich gets a cloth from Rein too, so he tries to kill him, takes the cloth and pretends no belongings were found till he's found out later. He also wouldn't have been "risking his life" to save Dietrich, he had prior knowledge of the battle, he knew exactly how it would go because he's a regressor. That's how he tried to kill Dietrich.
- She didn't just "abandon her child", he is of imperial blood and the imperial family had ordered her to return him to them. She had no choice. As a matter of fact, this only even happens as yet more of Wilhelm trying to manipulate Rein. He wants to see her so he uses his son to get her there. He then rapes her for 3 days because she won't listen to him and he feels like if he just lets her go he'll never see her again. He's now doing the same thing, using the son to get to Rein.
- She didn't just abandon Wilhelm, she RAN away from him when she discovered he's a psychopath. She was in love with him, it took a very good reason for her to run screaming. She is still in love with him and struggling with that, but he's done something unforgivable.
Thank you, dear. Finally someone is reading the same story as me! It's as if most of the readers here, lack the sense to read between the lines, or, understand the dark romance, political intrigue and tragedy aspect of the story. Both FL and ML are just actors doomed to their role. Even though they were reincarnated, their trauma wasn't healed. In fact, it just intensified. They were never destined for happiness. Most readers here don't seem to understand how triggers and PTSD work. I'm actually glad they don't, this just means they have had sane and good lives and that's a wonderful thing!
Trauma of parents actually translate to
the children very often, I would know- I've got South Asian parents who make it my job to bear their trauma as well as be their therapist. I just think, that, the way these characters are written is not something a lot of isekai romance readers are used to. I often see similar dissatisfied comments under manhwas like "Your Throne", with similar themes of dark romance and political intrigue. I totally understand tragedy not being everyone's cup of tea and I'd suggest to drop this comic and read something more palatable to them.
People dissatisfied with the current turn of events need to:
1. Reread the previous episodes
2. Understand the severity of trauma, specifically when it's left to fester.
3. Understand the power and functions of royal family over the rest of nobility and therefore realize how powerless FL is against the crown.
4. Understand that, though something might seem like easy and common sense to you, might not seem that easy for someone living in those stressful situations
5. Realize how just living for the sake of revenge can mentally fuck up a person.
6. While reading the manhwa, imagine the characters as people living in those very situations and thus, try to think with respect the timeline of the comic, instead of detaching from the whole plot. The characters might be 2d pieces of art, but, to the story and to the author, they are people whose lives are being unfolded. Don't just detach yourself from the plot and make light of the characters. I recommend doing this for a better immersive reading.
What in the organic chemistry thesis...??
Well all I did was express regret and shock in reading a troupe (dark romance? Really) I shouldn't have.
I don't care about what's between any lines.
I never said anything about abandoning her child here.
I'm just questioning the MC mental state
Realistically, she should have just let him follow his original fate, and she made it like it's a sin he didn't tell her about his memories coming back.
She should rest abeg.
Na book person say e dey read,no be he one wey go dey increase run bp.
Kilagbe kilaju!!?
Was it a reply to my comment? If yes, then, I apologize for coming off as rude, nor do I wanted to present it like boring thesis. You are well in your own right to choose not to get deep into the plot, or, dislike a comic. I was simply trying to put forward a different perspective of the story- I just see potential here. That's all.
It's true though, both FL, ML as well as poor Billoy should get some good ol' therapy. Maybe we should let truck-kun isekai us, and we can be their therapists! Lol.
Btw, FL was right to make it a sin for ML to not tell her about his memories returning. Just for a little context, ML liked FL from the start. But, FL started having romantic feelings for ML after the war, while they were bonding over the loss of their mutual friend- Dietrich. Now, FL has previously been tortured by the decisions of another obsessive asshole- her financee, the crown prince- Michael. So, imagine when she found out, that, her perception of a shared trauma was false and that, ML had kept this important info from her simply out of romantic obsession, FL had all the right to hate him. If you read the earlier chapters, you'll find, that, FL had a somewhat romantic-somewhat close family type of relationship with Dietrich.. So, in both her lifetimes, marrying Dietrich was a very viable and socially expected choice for her. If you look at what Dietrich did for FL, he alone could have been the male lead in a different genre of romance.
P. S. : this is dark romance. Why? Because this has trauma, rape, ptsd, obsession, coercion severly mixed in the romantic plot. You can have dark romance even without smut- but, you need to have these.
A visual presentation how you use something when needed and throw it away after the use it over. The fact that none of this would've happened and they could've actually lived a happy life had she talked to him instead of going AWOL. He also thought Dietrich died, she's mad that he didn't risk his life to save Dietrich. So she wanted Wil to die at his place or what? He's crazy since birth, but damn she's the worst ML I've seen in the entirety of my manhwa reading history. Literally abandoned her own child. It's comical how she used him for her revenge and left him when the mildest inconvenience happened. They are both terrible terrible to raise a child. Dietrich and His wife should just take the child and run away.
