So apparently she used to be a mermaid and met the ML when he was a kid. I forgot why exactly I think it was his wish or something like that, but she turned human to be with him. I’m not too sure they both remember this though.
Also the guy she’s supposed to marry actually ends up liking her and she does too at some point, he sees how the ML treats the FL harshly so he’s always trying to protect her from him. This is all cute and all until he realizes she’s a commoner and reveals his true colors and leaves her (although he did like her, he valued raising his status more)
