I don't really think that's being naïve but just huge psychological problems like he doesn't give 2 shit about being stalked if he was naïve he would've been like "mmh maybe he doesn't mean any harm" but no he actually knew the harms of being stalked and someone breaking into his house but maybe because of some shitty type of trauma he just couldn't let go and had a huge attention craving which I can find relatable but really fucked up...
