I'm not villainizing Ian but let's be real. Jo is in love with Ian. He's too wrapped up in his feelings to be objective and rational.
Ian may like jo or be curious but right now he is not head over heels in love with Jo. He isn't clouded by emotions like Jo is, so he needs to step back and sort himself out and not confuse Jo.
Also, isn't it so convenient that Ian is giving Jo attention as soon as TJ goes MIA? What's going to happen to Jo when TJ returns and occupies Ian's attention?
Leave that man alone...you know that bussy belongs to someone else. It's cruel to pull Jo in rn when you're still entangled with TJ.
