Oh no the brat and her grandpa will last be appearing in vol 10 and 11. We are currently in vol 9. Vol 13 is still a long way to go. It has to do with a major nation that is yet to appear in manga.

You can read it directly at their site, or download pdf or epub etc to read offline. Sadly they don't have volume 1-5, so I'm not sure where you can read it. BUT, if you want to read it directly where the manga left, you can start with VOLUME 10, since the latest chapter 118 is exactly the end of volume 9.
So I just read LN novel volume 13 and ooooohh boiiii if all the other previous volumes are just a prelude to this one. The ENTIRE volume is GOOD. There's not much of Rimuru's appearance and I'm not even mad. All of his people did so well I feel like a proud parent **sobs**
WN will always be a fond read for me but LN is obviously better. It's more detailed and organized. But still I like both WN and LN. Tensura's world-building is so interesting to read, and when there's action, they definitely go all out.
