I usually just don't comment when I'm not into something cause who gaf but this one is just. astounding.
Like I'm very aware that a lot of people are into this type of ML (otherwise it would not have been published, duh), but the way that it's so lighthearted for the subject is just.... mindblowing ?! cause this is HORROR/psychological manga material right here, it just has a rose filter on it... NOT EVEN, when I think abt it, cause the manga acknowledges that ML is messed up, but that's part of the appeal ... ??
What really gets me is Mebuki still being kind to him... it makes me feel like I'm in an alternate reality honestly. I'm aware u could say it's not that deep or whatever, but it's scary how so many women I know IRL have just tried to keep being nice to the men who've harassed them (or worse!). Like, it's too close to such a real problem ?!
Also, during the 1st chapter I kept imagining Asahina as a stereotypical "ugly bastard" character, and it's just..... it just makes it so clear that it's obviously a fantasy, but this guy's so scary.... It's really not even him being scary; I've def read and written worse, it's the fact that it's meant to be APPEALING that feels wrong to me...
I still read up to ch. 7 though, cause it's not so disgusting that I'm unable to keep going. It just feels like watching a plane crash into a family gathering, except the family's conflicted on whether they should be totally mad or not, because the pilot feels "bad" about it, you know...
