???? I'm not sure if this chapter is ideal for season finale?

Why not? It's a cliffhanger, something many authors or directors do to cause suspense. This just makes me want to wait and come back to find out what happens next

Maybe I'm not interested enough or it could be better to wait for the events to get more complex?
In my opinion, it could be more exciting to get a season finale after the events got more heated. It just feels so sudden and instead of getting excited I'm even thinking about dropping it and starting to read again after it's completed.
