A lot of the time its because I as a reader can point out and disagree with the idea the author is pushing when it comes to the story/characters.
As an example, I can be reading two stories with the same exact plot, but depending on how things are phrased and presented, I'll drop and hate on one, and claim that the other is the greatest thing Ive read possibly of all time
I drop when one of the main characters get too pathetic... especially in bls where uke end up in a situation like he's living under someone else's mercy, doesn't have to be the same everytime you know circumstances....for example I was an reader of painter of the night when it was ongoing, and Lord i felt Bad for uke like hell... and i dropped it never looked back . Everyone told me seme changed he's a sweetheart now or whatever. But I'm never going back
When it starts to become annoying, like the plot, unnecessary intervention from the other characters, harem (tbh I'm okay with harem but not the annoying one, like suddenly everyone fell for the Mc out of nowhere, I rather have silent type harem, like we know it will be harem but it's not being shown too much, not sure if u understand that), unnecessary romance coming in the middle of the arc, and just got bored suddenly ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
This is interesting especially bc most of the time storyline were the uke is at the semes mercy is a huge chunk of the plot yk? But I understand what ur saying it reminds me of "Even if you don't love me" I had to drop it bc I couldn't stay the situation the uke was in, and at that it was increasingly getting worse. Also I got pretty far in Painter of the night and yes the seme changes his behavior somewhat and becomes sweeter toward the end but it gives me whiplash bc he was meant to be this hateful, demanding man and he suddenly started to be loving and sweet?IDK
NAURRR I TOTALLY GET IT
Tbh I respect this so much I rlly annoys me when a side character or bg character suddenly has "always been in love with the uke" or something of that sort, especially when the Mc and main love interest have officially settled down into an official relationship yk? Ik the author does this for drama or to create an other story line but most of the time I find it played out
One thing that will forever dictate whether I drop Mangas or not is the fucking artstyle ٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶ if it's ugly or unproportional it will make me drop it I think it's because it's the visual representation of what I'm reading and if it's not a good visual is it even worth reading? Please reply if u don't understand what I'm saying bc I'm not sure if I'm phrasing it right erm but "the abyss" IS A BIGGGGG example, the plot is already questionable and the characters are stereotypical but I would have read it anyway if it weren't for that ugly ass artstyle IM SORRY BUT I CANT it's just so unproportional it makes my laugh ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭

Hai aurkay so I'm curious what factors make you all drop Mangas?
Is it the plot?
Mcs being annoying?
Artstyle?
Most of the time I hear ppl dropped Mangas bc of what others r saying or bc of popular opinion.
But what makes u personally drop a read?
