I think it's an Asian thing. I saw some gay couple in Asia still using husband and wife terms because it's not about gender but about the duty. A wife take care inside the house and a husband take care outside the house. It's cute to see a harmonious couple working together like that

I guess everyone has their preferences because in some BLs both men are called husbands
So I guess it depends on the author but personally I don't see a problem with it

it’s great people are giving context about this conversation, but the even if wife/husband is used as a form of endearment it still feeds into the patriarchy and somewhat contributes to misogyny with this topic. it’s like a rectangle and square. misogyny isn’t inherently patriarchal- but the patriarchy is inherently misogynistic
