If you guys didn't understand what the mangaka was saying please look it up before you comment...

First understand the mangaka is talking about Freud's theory on the opposing forces Eros and Thanatos.

Eros is the instic for satisfaction, procreation and life.

Thanatos is the instic for destruction, aggression and desire for peace/death.

According to Freud both this instics are driven by unconscious forces and both are necessary for life.

Now the mangaka first focuses on the procreation aspect of this theory because it involved them.

They wondered if normal hetero couples fulfilled their Eros instic by procreating how did single or homosexual couples fulfilled it.

They go on to broaden on the full aspect of Eros and Thanatos by stating that couples that have procreated loose Eros and in consequence their Thanatos increases (desire for peace); however, poeple that are not heterosexual usually struggle to fulfill their Eros instic for various reasons not just for being unable to reproduce and conclude this people have low Eros and high Thanatos.

They explain that this story was born from their romantic idealism of saving a life in a egotistical way. They reverse the original flow where people usually have the will to live so they have sex to the uke has sex to gain the will to live.

The idea was the uke (who is gay and therefore has more Thanatos) to gain energy from the seme (who is hetero and has more Eros). The mangaka made this distinction which is the one thing that ruined the story for me A little since I think the action of sex was enough to gain Eros not the fact that the seme was hetero. It takes away from my belief that the seme has issues being alone and is therefore crazy in the head and not kind like the uke thought.

you see i think if you take any of freuds theories seriously you should be displayed in town square where the common people can throw tomatoes at you
