dont think its really a norm(?) like people do it but its ofc also frowned upon on, i assume. eg for his previous job he surely didnt sleep around to get it. the reason hes sleeping w ml to get this specific job is bc its this specific man whos in this specific team he wants to get into/work in or with.
i think mc was just desperate at that point so he accepted it. say if it were his previous job where he had other job options he could consider, i dont think he would have accepted it just as easily.
and ure right to say that u wouldve just resigned from the company, but ofc the mc had a different situation after being outed as a whistleblower which made it much harder to get a job. and to be offered the opportunity to get into a team he want sto work with, with the ml whom he looked ip to, i guess it makes a bit of sense that he accepted it in the end
Of course it isn't real. But once you've worked in the corporate world long enough, you kinda need to grow a thick skin or a strong constitution to be able to burn bridges like this. People will gaslight you left and right just like what the superior was doing in chapter 1. Uke had the guts to report his superior to HR. Should've gave the seme the middle finger for insinuating that he'd be a poor team member just cuz he actually has a proper work ethic.
As someone who is already in the corporate workforce, the idea that the uke needs to sleep around to find a job is just a major turn off. HR is NOT YOUR FRIEND. Your boss forcing you to give him sexual favors is the literal definition of workplace harassment.
Maybe it's just a Korean work culture thing, but I would resigned from the company and not looked back. Trashy workplaces like that are a stain on your career anyway. If another interview has to ask why you left, just say that the company culture and your work ethic did not match.
