I think thats the point.
MC need to be 11 when he return cause that when the age where a child (adolescence) need a validation from people around them. If he return at ages 14 or 15, that already age when you know you can rebel and try to have your own way. It'll hard to control him in brother perfective.
If Scarlet makes ML a bit younger, then the timeline for him become a vet would be absurd because his turning point is when he depressed and got into toxic relationship with the girl.
they should've just made him 24-25 smthg in the future so that in past it wouldn't look so weird to see an 14-15 yo hanging out with a vet. i mean the brother here def got issues but even normal people wouldn't let their 11 yo sibling hang out with someone a decade older than them so often
