i have siblings, i just shut off the part of my brain that remembers that lmao.
also it is soooooo not the same. though vomiting at thought of ur neked sibling is very real. But there are plenty of cultures with shared brides between siblings, like tibet. thats what i try to think about. str8 up realistically i would puke and probably kms tho so yeah. valid.
Maybe for some people, but not me. I'm the youngest of 7 kids and I can read sibling love all day long. It's bc I myself know that I don't have sexual feelings for my siblings (and other family members), so reading incest doesn't make me uncomfortable at all. It's the same thing for other types of stories. Say for instance red flag, toxic MLs. I've been in toxic and abusive relationships and I never want to be in those situations again, yet I have a love for certain kinds of red flag, toxic MLs and find them extremely sexy....especially when they are obsessive and possessive. I guess all in all, I can separate my real life from the stories I read and the characters I am into.
"i guess we need to realize reality and fiction are not the same and not because you like a toxic story means you want a toxic relationship." SAY IT LOUDER FOR THE BALCONY SEATS!!!
You'd be surprised (or maybe not) how many people DONT understand that. I've been judged (you might have been too) for liking certain characters and certain stories by people on here. Not everyone, of course, but by those who can't separate reality from fiction. I know there are some situations or themes in these stories that mirror real life. Yes. But the reason why a lot of us can binge stories in a day or two, or bookmark stories so that we can keep up with updates/notify, or re-read many stories over and over is bc our brain understands that what we're reading is fiction and allows you to feel things in fiction in a way you cant in real life. I.E., like you said when characters are possessive. I like obsessive ones too. Lol
I agree with both of you but, too much of reading those types of books can honestly mess you up. The whole incest gimmick weirds me out but I have read other books that had topic like this so this isn’t something new to me. But, the reason people judge and I can’t understand where they are coming from is that Yao sometimes be romanizing these taboo stuff or sexualizing it, which to other rubs them the wrong way. With the author trying to present us that these taboo stuff are not that bad or they enjoy these kinds of behaviors. However, the separate fiction and reality is very spot on because us reading this don’t actually condemn this in real life and we just reading this for reading sack and dgaf. (Srry for this long rant just wanna yap :3)
I hate in the Polly couples when 2 of them are siblings. Something insest relates happens. Are like only child's reading this bcz I gag at the thought of my bro naked. But other than the insest ship I love it
