It is funny that the most sensitive about this topic are not the people of color. People are such hypocrites to just jump to conclusions and call other people racist just because of one mistake. Ever heard of language and culture barriers? People from other countries might not know that such word can be considered racist to other but not to their home country.

I’m an Asian and definitely belonged to what they pertain as People of color. And I have only come to know like 5-7 years ago that N word is a racist word if others say it. I was like 25 back then. And if you are going to ask people who live in the country where I live, only a handful of them also knows that N word is a racist term. You’ll probably going to be surprised how often people here use that word as an adjective, to vex and even as an endearment here in the country where I live. Don’t group everyone in those countries who are liberated by that word. Because not everyone knows that.

Well it is true, you can find it in the comment section of people here saying that they are black and yet they were not upset about it since the author apologized but the thing is that those people who are not black are the ones branding and even criticizing the author to the point they are getting cancelled now if that is not a hypocritical sensitivity and I don’t know is.
Also, don’t put people in your country alike from other countries. Like I said that N word here is not being seen as a racist word. It is even use as pets name here or even an endearment to the people you love. Each word has different meaning and use in each countries. You can’t expect each and everyone to conform to its meaning from other countries. The thing is, I for instance know that N word is a disrespectful term to call someone so I would never use it in a foreign land nor say it in front of foreigners but I will say it in front of my country man because like I said that word holds same and yet different meaning here and not everyone here knows how other people from different country perceive that word.

Call it what you will, call me weird for all I care but I only speak the truth. My cousin who’s niece who has dark skin color her nickname was that. My co-worker who has a black, cat her cat name was that and the friend of mine who has a boyfriend she calls him that as an endearment.
Even the word gay here is also being use in away to call a friend or as an expression that people don’t find offensive.
We use a lot of words that other people from other countries may find offensive in a manner that we don’t. It is something that is hard to explain and hard for others to understand. But for people in this place the weight that words carries of course they are being careful when it comes to using those words but for those who doesn’t know well they use it as like that in this country.
What I’m saying there are some things you can’t control and expect everyone to conform into it. There’s always a racial, cultural and language barrier.
Every race has their own traumas, every race suffer in oneway or another even Asians too. Asians receives hates and repulsive racist reactions from other countries too and even get hurt just because of their skin colors. Everyone can be a victim.
Understanding goes two ways, you wanted others to understand then educate them, don’t go expecting everyone instantly knows about it when we don’t even live in the same geographical space not share the same history. Assuming so is just plain stupid. Never assume unless otherwise stated.
