It's not about well written character when you meet those kind of twisted people with some crazy mindset in real life you will know what kind of disgusting people are they. I've met that kind of woman in real life. So the queen's character isn't something to be appreciated rather it's to be loathed. May be you haven't met those kind of people in your real life that's why you don't realise their ugliness but once you meet those kind of people even reading fictional character with those nature will spoil your mind and churn your stomach. That's it, it's my POV....... Some villains or villainess who had lot of struggle and discouragement in their life turns to far more better character compared to the heroes, but it's not the case of the queen.
girl the character is well written because she’s meant to be unlikable. your strong reaction is proof of that. this is fiction, learn to when it’s appropriate to separate fiction from reality. no one actually likes a person like the queen IN REAL LIFE. that’s why it’s okay to appreciate her writing because it’s FICTION. would this story be the same story if the queen was all wishy washy and not as domineering and cruel as she is? villains exist to be an obstacle to the heroes, not a reflection of your “perfect” morals. i’m almost 99% sure the original poster wasn’t saying they liked her character because they actually like her a a PERSON, like they her a CHARACTER. a character that’s SUPPOSED TO BE THE VILLAIN
You are right villains are meant to create obstacles for the heroes so that the heroes can showcase their strength. But villains also show great emotions of togetherness for their kins and family members but the queen didn't bat an eye to her own father's death due a tragic accident, instead started to do normal talks with a straight poker face. It's not something that villains do, when something happens to someone's from Villains family they create havoc accusing everyone of their loved ones death. But the Queen, huh she's like "Good riddance from the old man". No real daughter would stay sane from her father's death, even a villainous daughter as well.

Itachi is broken hero brother. He's my favourite as well and all he did just for the safety of his leaf village and later he fought sasuke to the point where the curse from orochi was annihilated by Itachi and taught his little brother Amateratsu..... Itachi isn't a villain in my eyes, nor Madara, nor Pain nor Obito. No one of Naruto is a villain they are all broken heroes and they have special places in my heart....
please you have to realize villains come in all shapes and forms. there is no correct type of villain itachi in every sense of the way was a villain. as the story progressed we realize otherwise, but he is very much still is considered one, and a great one at that. please also remember that opinion is subjective, and what you think should be a good villain is not what other people think is a good villain. me and many others just agree that the queen is OBJECTIVELY a horrible person, and that makes her an interesting villain. again, YOU DO NOT HAVE TO THINK THIS WAY, just leave people alone if you don’t like it.

I dunno but I have an odd taste in woman. I really adore Tia however I love Shananet and Queen Lavini's character. I like old women maybe thats why. XD andddd i think all of us can agree that the queen's character is really well written she is freaking smart and a beauty as well. I just have this fantasy that she will be given a second chance and maybe get a good life, still being a bitch but a good bitch. Butttttt the LN says otherwise. I feel sorry for her.
