I know this isn't everyone's favorite story, but I relate so hard to his family situation. They expect you to put on airs and keep contributing to the family even though they don't even pretend to like you anymore, let alone accept you. You just want their fcking approval but will never ever get it.
People blame the OC for being weak and just crying all the time, but when you were broken by your own family putting the pieces of yourself back together is so much harder.....
