I KNOW RIGHT LIKE PLS LOOK AT HIM

On one hand, yes okay fine I'm getting used to the idea of the OG novel ML being the true ML. Thinking about their past life where he still somewhat respected Yeon bc she was his master's daughter when no one else did... sure. Sure. Maybe they'll meet again when they're older after a time skip, maybe he'll have matured (seemingly) but turns a bit more childish when met alone with Yeon and we get to see his childhood bratty self still being there, maybe Yeon could keep teasing him. That could be fun.

But also.... Yayul??? He's the one who killed her originally but he was essentially abused and manipulated since childhood so one can argue that was not the current Yayul at all (I would say this is a fact), especially if he is given the chance to learn the other martial arts!! And he's such a loyal puppy and I'm a sucker for those. Imagine them meeting again all grown up and he's the same yet different, Yeon feels excited to meet him but perhaps somewhat anxious thinking about her past life, but all of that would fade away the moment she sees him... JUST IMAGINE!!!(/TДT)/

Someone could say that their past life dynamics don't count but tbh personally they do, at least to some degree. And we love a good redemption where a source of anxiety has become a source of comfort.

Tbh what I described with Yayul could still work if they keep their relationship platonic both ways. I'd honestly prefer them being close friends over Yayul developing feelings and it not working out bc ouch their dynamic wouldn't change much, and he could still be overprotective of her, just in a more brotherly way. Still super cute and enjoyable imo. I just don't want to see him get hurt ig

Sadly, it seems he's the one doing the hurting in the future . I was rooting for his redemption arc though.

I get it, the OG novel ML maturing and reconnecting with Yeon after a time skip sounds fun, especially if he still has that bratty side she can tease.

But Yayul? His tragic backstory and loyalty make him so endearing. Their past life dynamics add depth, and a redemption arc for Yayul would be beautiful. Whether as friends or something more, seeing him happy and not hurt is what I need

From spoilers I've seen in the comments (so I'm not confident in the credibility) he's gonna become possessive of her and want her to himself only. Therefore will start dirty rumors about her ruining her reputation and hurting her in the process. I think he does other things as well, but that's the one that stood out to me.
