I get you the superficiality gives me ick but because I actually know a catfish I can believe this kind of plots. Btw im a person who can't get so familiar with someone no matter how long we've been together, I often get people's name, face or details wrong same with places or directionsT^T The makeup artist mentioned makeup work well on plain faces right? thats true if you have the right/average face proportion it is possible to look different depending on the makeup style especially once you have filter on cam. This won't work to distinctive features
Also the characters have different personalities and behavior but yeah it's kinda random but I can somehow relate cause I can actually predict a bit of what they're gonna do that means if im in that situation I would do the same lmao I have random azz awkward way of reacting to situations but so far from my understanding the ML is torn between his logic and emotions lol he gets carried away. It has potential honestly if only the flow was natural and smooth lol give it a chance tho it's flawed. Try Bridgerton or Dragon Prince novel if you like something that smooth as butter(▰˘◡˘▰)
btw I also noticed asians have higher chances of pulling off an insanely good catfish(from my experience /whom I met) I mean looks good without makeup but even better with makeup could even get to the point they become unrecognizable, I got a friend who do dragrace and if he tries a normal feminine makeup he looks so different. It takes talent or skills to do that tho like they ain't just putting makeup on their skin they are altering face parts to make it seem as natural or different than how it actually looks like its so amazing

fr lol so this is my conclusion of that blonde. He thinks his childhood friend is ugly so he didn't really pay attention to her looks that's why when he saw her, he never thought it would be his friend cause she doesn't give that vibe and he never payed attention to her before. He is like a crow only attracted and remembers pretty, shiny and good things. A judgement, selective A-hole It's flawed asf even the blind would notice or get a sense of familiarity just with voices, smell and/or touch
It's not bad but the author kind of makes the story more confusing than it has to be. Like the main plot itself is already good enough and I don't understand why she's keeping the secret although it's not really a secret from her childhood friend. I also find it ridiculous that none of those three people noticed that it was her just because she had longer hair and was wearing a bit of makeup. Like so he recognizes her after a long time in high school but she puts on some different clothes and makeup and suddenly she's a different person. That aspect is just a little silly to me and her whole subplot with the best friends just is kind of annoying. I also think the author moved way too fast with the MC and male lead relationship. I don't mean romance wise but I mean familiarity wise. Like there was no business-friendship or making a deal with one another face. Like The professional phase just isn't there and why is he already jealous??? It should be business relationship then friendship then love right but I feel like he's doing the most helping her. like dialogue wise in the beginning he's just almost too kind and it doesn't really work with his actions for me. And I'm not saying he isn't a kind person but his actions feel out of place. And they technically have me even made like the typical "I will pretend to be your girlfriend consistently" deal. They just end up in the situations randomly and they just pretend for one another. I don't know it's kind of hard to describe specifically what I'm dissatisfied with. I just really defined a disappointing because I love their dynamic. I love the comedy, the male lead is hot and actually really sweet. I just feel like their decisions and actions are not matching up.
I stopped at chapter 20 and I gave this like four stars, might come back to finish later.
