I DESPISE this trope!! when MCs knowingly and willingly put themselves in a position of abuse and humiliation, and CHOOSE to be stupid spineless and colorblind. 10 fcking years?? and you KNOW the dude is complete trash?? what is even so appealing in such situations??? like, I understand feelings can't be controlled or whatever.. but like, how much of a doormat do you have to be to go along with this bullshit?? where is his self-respect and dignity??
