Srsly ppl stop being an asshole! It's not the best translation out there but at least she did it her best. If you think she's bad, make her stop the scanlation isn't the solution! You're not helping at all! If you think the grammar is bad why don't you become her proof reader, huh?? Instead of that, you're here preaching about bad translation and being rude without doing anything at all
And for the translator-san, please do not stop your translation because these asshat! And it's the more reason for you to continue your works. I know translation is not the easiest thing, I've done it myself.
Don't mind these oh-so-great-holier-than-thou bitches!
basically you are bashing the people who tried their best because you got your hopes up when you saw this got updated.
HA, even mentioning japanese raws or retranslating from chinese.
can you even differentiate japanese and chinese, and then simplified chinese or not? just asking, pure curiosity.

NO ONE BOTHERED TO PICK THIS MANGA FOR THE LAST TWO YEARS!!
If a team wanted to, they would've done it already but they didn't. She didn't stop them from picking it up.
This manga would have just gone into the abyss without ever being translated or at least left alone a few more years before being picked up.
This nice person was kind enough to pick up the series because she loved it and wished to share it with everyone else. She did everything by herself and is a complete newbie so she's bound to make mistakes. The quality is not crispy clean but it's not as bad you're making it to be. If you genuinely want a better scanlation, then offer your help.
There's never uncensored raws, they are always censored(including Doujinshi) because of Japan's strict censorship laws. In some works the censorship is not as bad as others. If the censorship is bad, that's not the translator's fault.
The only reason some mangas on here are uncensored is because the scanlation teams took their time to redraw all the censored scenes(even then some ppl are still ungrateful).
If you say the translations are inaccurate or terrible, you must be saying this since you can understand the source material. Then why don't help out the translator or translate it yourself. If you say that the quality is terrible, then you buy the manga, scan it, level it, dust it, clean it and redraw all of the censored scenes all by yourself.
If you can't do any of that or at least attempt to then shut up and don't read it.
You are ungrateful and now because of people like you, this manga will be dropped again and never picked up again because when someone bothered to, all they received was shit comments like yours.
Never in my comments did I say she should stop, she can continue (which she has) to do her scanlations, but it won't change the fact that her translation was poor initially. I expressed criticism in her scanlation, which is well within my rights, and my problem wasn't with just the grammar. There's no point in fixing bad grammar if the translation isn't accurate to begin with. If she needed help proofreading, she could ask and I'm sure people would apply or help. It seems that criticism has given her cause to search out people to help, which has worked better in the long run. Do you think people learn or get better without criticism?
Do you think google translate is a translation? Seriously? Like I SAID, if she was using her own translation skills - even if it was beginner or intermediate - I WOULD HAVE NO PROBLEM. At the very least, I would know she had some knowledge or skill to try to interpret the language. Google translate is NOT a reliable source of translation if you aren't familiar with the language. Do you think that some standard should be held for something you enjoy or like?!?!
I can differentiate between Chinese and Japanese raws and I'm familiar enough with the scanlation community to recognize when someone is using Chinese scans. I can tell when something is being translated in Mandarin or Japanese, although Japanese uses Chinese characters in kanji, but that's easy enough to differentiate as Japanese characters are always included with the kanji. And that's besides the point, my point is that there is still a lot of skill required within translating and meaning can be lost translating from one language to another. Translating from Japanese to Chinese and then Chinese to English will doubly ensure that something gets lost along the way. Ideally, it's the worst way to translate, but at least you're getting the core of the meaning. Google translate lacks all of that because there is no person to sit there and gauge nuance and try to give interpretation to meanings or sayings. When a character says I hate you but really said, I hate it, don't you think there is a difference in meaning? If you're judging a character solely based on their actions and their conversation then everything they say matters and counts. I know some of you guys don't care (obviously since none of you bothered to read enough to understand my point), but I do care to some degree. I'm not asking for fluent Japanese translation here; I think my bar has always been pretty low, but I draw the line at google translate!
It doesn't matter if it hasn't been picked up in two years, there's many projects that languish and later get picked up by groups. I'm not asking for perfection or fluency, I'm only asking for a very low level of competency - namely not google translate. Read my replies and you'll see where I'm coming from. I have no problem with the person who tried to do this as she was obviously well-intentioned, and I have no problems with people who are obviously new to scanlating (I've read scanlations for many years and have encountered just as bad, if not worse, and never complained). WHAT I DID SAY was that it was the COMBINATION of all three factors that really did it in. I wouldn't have cared if her scans were Chinese or censored to death if there was at least a degree of translation accuracy that came from HER - whether it be beginner or intermediate. And yes I am very aware of how the censorship works and I'm aware of the law.
I mean, seriously, how low is the bar set for some of y'all? I'm well within my rights to criticize and there really is nothing I can do about bad translation because I can't translate but I can sure as hell use google translate, but there's a reason why I don't. If I understood the source material, I obviously wouldn't be here but I see the strawman you're building. Doing guesswork based on google translate should not be considered TRANSLATION, THAT'S THE POINT.
I won't even get into the last argument because you obviously know nothing about me, but I've been reading scanlations a long time and I'm familiar enough with the process to know and appreciate the time and work people put into scanlations. And I also know when I'm within my rights to voice a complaint and criticism, as well. Again, keep building your straw men, but next time read what I have to say and address my real concerns.
And I just want to say one last thing; I have read that the original translator found someone to translate this project and I'm glad that she remains enthusiastic about the project and loves it enough to want to do it justice. My comments weren't meant to negatively bash her, but just the methods she went about working on this project.
When I checked mangaupdates today, I was elated to see that there was a massive release for this series. I knew from experience that the likelihood of the scanlation being high quality was low seeing as it was a bulk release, but I had hoped against hope that at the very least it was someone who could at least competently translate from Japanese or at worst maybe someone translating from Chinese. Upon opening the first chapter, it was letdown from the get go. I'm not finicky about scanlations when I'm in the obvious position of "beggars can't be choosers." However, not only was the translation poor, the scans were also terrible (all that ugly censorship, no real cleaning or even uncensored raws to make up for the translations). And then after having visited the scanlator's page, she admits that she's using google translate and guessing with her translations. That's not even real translating as far as I'm concerned.
I know her intentions are good, but scanlations like hers can only do bad. No group will want to pick it up after having seen that there's someone else who has already done some work on it, regardless of the quality. Unless a devoted lone wolf type scanlator comes along, the chances are low that anyone else will want to pick it up. And that means we'll be stuck with the piss poor quality of google translated manga. I know we're all in a desperate position to read this manga (for those who do like it), but I think we should at least try to expect a modicum of quality. There is none of that here; this scanlation is rife with poor grammar, bad translations, and LQ scans. If she had at least one of those three going, I wouldn't be so quick to complain, but seeing a series that I've been wanting to see translated for such a long time get this kind of treatment is upsetting.
