do you really think she’s asking for shallow romantic love with everything going on… ? the lack of media literacy is alarming
from the start she’s been trying to gauge everyone’s favorability to higher average/full in order to live omg. 100% = love according to her. she’s literally asking for someone who cares about her as a person, who will save her from harm. that’s her idea of love- loyalty, compassion, and safety after being abused in not one world but TWO. what is this take
Penelope is definitely annoying, she's treating love like a transaction and means to an end. That's not love bro, that's manipulation. But she has come to a realization and that's why she stopped checking the gauge because Eckles's love turns out to be a giant red flag. So now she's properly terrified, distrustful and dumped into a mess she made. This might be her lowest at the story, but I can definitely tell it's a great character growth arc
this entire webtoon she copes with how she was transmigrated as a villainess in a game that disservices her from the start. idg how you’re on a high horse with how she treated in-game characters because the entire game IS transactional… picking the right options/saying the right things = higher favorability and in her case survival? why are you more critical of her than the system/higher power who forced her to act this way
I'm critical because the latest chapter has shown the flaws in her character with how she succumbs to the system and became a manipulator. She thought she can use the system window to outsmart the game and find the best compatibility, but now that it backfires, she's hitting a down low on top of a literal guillotine. And again I said that this is a great character development arc, from an annoying manipulator to a genuine romantic
you’re so close to getting it. genuinely. but some of the details are flying over your head. she wasn’t trying to outsmart the game by using the system window or finding the best male interest, she was doing this those things to survive? you’re thinking she’s competitive or acting outta free-will when she’s was fighting for their life + trying not to die every scene
calling her an annoying manipulator from the jump when she’s a victim to her circumstances is wild. you put so much emphasis on her coping mechanisms/forced decision making and completely overshadowed how she’s been a kind, romantic person from the start but had no choice to act this way
She's being so annoying for begging for love like a fool
