Everyone losing their minds over what's currently happened in the story is as "like monogamy is an obsessive cult" because anything outside of their strict monogamous standards is met with a freak out akin to religious fanatics against a sin. The two main characters are trying to stay together while they deal with Tristan's family, I personally don't care if they suck some blood or give some in order to make that happen as long as they end up together.
