You guys are funny. While I agree with the sentiment that using modern slang in translations is kinda weird (seeing the word poggers used in a translation was... interesting), yapping isn't actually a new word. Originally it refers to the high pitched barking of small dogs. But the informal and kinda derogatory meaning of excessive/annoying talking has been around for at least a couple decades now
has any else felt like there been so much more current slang in translations these days??? like ive seen so many stories with nobles saying “stop yapping” for me it rlly puts me off chz it ruins the whole setting but idk
