I definitely remember feeling that way about multiple works, I'll tell you if I see it again!
It's so rare for the bottom to get more buff as the story progresses, usually the opposite happens, this is quite refreshing! Although I guess it does make sense if we imagine he kept on training and just got stronger, most authors don't care about that so I appreciate it
