translations is bad so its heard to tell
I wish I knew for certain in the beginning, when MC's dad is mentioned/thought about the adults around her seem sad (mum and grandpa) so I assumed he's dead, so this is just,,, confusing. It could also be her uncle since that seems like the most used word for him so far - I just wonder if he somehow assumed the role of a father figure for her? Or did her mother get remarried to her late husband's brother?? Let's hope we get better translations asap so we can finally figure it out </3
Definitely an uncle, the dad is dead. Biggest problem with this translation group is they don't know male and female words. You don't call a male granddaughter! If they wanted they could use generic terms like "child" or "them/they" instead of using male/female specific words incorrectly.
I've heard korean doesn't have gendered pronouns so I can understand why those can be mixed up (my native language doesn't have gendered pronouns either, so I know a lot of people who have struggled with she/he a lot), or I can understand the lack of using "they" when the gender is unknown for similar reasons, but yeah, the fact that it happens with granddaughter/grandson etc is a sign of laziness and not bothering to check with the context clues given by the comic. It's likely MTL anyways so yeah a given the quality sucks :/
Lately, I've not been minding it as much as I used to. I even recently read a chapter that kept using "oblivious" instead of "obvious", which made the story telling funnier. At least the site isn't stealing chapters from S2 anymore, they were the worst of the worst, their sentences didn't make sense at all - it was like a string of random words.
If he's her uncle that means after her dad died her mom had a son with her brother in law?

Yeah I know, I have been thinking about that from the start as well I just... I feel like we would've seen the brother call the uncle dad?? Or did we but I just don't remember?? It's just hard to tell with these crappy translations wahh, I am projecting what I hope for but,,, yeah
I think it could also mean that the attack that injured her father happened when she was a baby, I don't know if we were ever told how long after it was until he died (bc he didn't die in that battle, he died in a match later on, and the death was related to the injuries he had sustained from that time)
When her mother made here first apperance she cried and fl thought (mother is thinking about father)
So if she was thinking about her husband that's means he is dead
And if we apply your theory it's possible that he died after his son was born
But if that little boy calls that uncle father that means that fls uncle married her mother

That's smart, I'm impatient so I'm keeping up with the updates, maybe I'll reread the officials when they get published. But yeah at least I don't remember seeing anything about the brother calling the uncle dad, I feel like I would've made a mental note of it,,, oh well, maybe someone who has read the novel or something can come correct this later :')
