considering it's based on a true story and that the manga is extremely explicit i would say that, yes, it's very tragic and sad. however it's a very interesting story but please don't read it if it makes you uncomfortable, your well-being is more important than some manga
simply put, yes. but the writing is absolutely beautiful in my opinion.
