He’s a college student and although it’s “ideal” on paper, paper means jack shit in the real world. You eat when you have time and that’s it. You sleep when you can too. If you live life so rigidly with all these stupid “ideals” then you’re not accounting for the fact that every human is different and “ideals” only apply to a small percentage of the human population. Like the whole “8 hours sleep is optimal for humans!” Bs. For male adults with neurotypical brains, 6-8 hours is a decent amount of sleep but for women with neurotypical brains, it’s actually better to have 9-10 hours sleep. Not only that but atypical brains don’t function the same way and require significantly more or less sleep depending on the person. My personal ideal sleep is either 4.5 hours or 11-12 hours. There is no in between for me. Also there’s so many studies that show it’s better to nap after having a large meal so the 4 hours rule is also just subjective. You cannot reliably have a “one rule fits all” for any creature that wasn’t created by cloning themselves. The secretary is out of line.
