I guess they both knew that they liked each other but never asked the other to date outright so they were together but without a label. Total my pov
I am not trying to be negative here but the top knew that black hair guy has feelings for him for such a long time but still chose to stay oblivious just so he can amuse himself but the black hair guy is a puppy, if it had been in other mangas the seme wouldn't have it this easy, he would have regretted it for days, but overall I loved it...it's not toxic but a very sweet love story
