Thank you for being respectful enough to not resort to ad hominem attacks when it comes to disagreement.
I enjoyed the work and still love it until Kou raped Natsume and it went downhill in a romanticized abusive and toxic relationship. I know this is fiction though it represents part of reality, so I don't care about it, but I just hate how the author called that romance. It is not. The characters are mostly lost souls who try to find connection in a world where they want to be special omnipresent beings (this does not make a lot of sense), so they are desperate to hold onto fabled concepts.
No no ! it makes sense and I absolutely agree with you except for the fact that the author wanted to make it romance ... or at least typical romance. I think the author is very synical on love... I think she exactly wanted to portray Natsume and Kou's relationship like that : a toxic meeting of two lost soul that can only suit each other. It can be unsettling tho but that was so interesting to read about !
Overrated af. It used to be a compelling story but over the middle of the plot, the author unnecessarily tried to make it deep when it is shallow af. Both Kou and Natsume don't love each other, they are lusting over the illusion of loving each other and how SpEcIaL they are.
