If you're complaining that there's not enough rape, assault, paedophilia and homophobia in stories these days then you're the problem. Honestly you can still find that stuff all over the place, and there is no shortage of psychological, thriller and horror bl either, go read Blind Play. Idk what exactly it is you're even complaining about.

I am very sorry for your collection being ruined, that sucks.
But as a "new wave fujo" and an adult I disagree with your opinion. We don't dislike mature topics and only read high schoolers struggling to say daisuki.
Mature and heavy topics have go be handled correctly, that's it. You said it very correctly, ten count was popular because it has mature themes. That's why I liked it as a 13 year old.
As an adult I could recognize that the themes were handled with no care and regard for people struggling with those real issues and that it just blatantly fetishizes them.
Just because it has dark themes doesn't mean it's automatically good.
Also, nobody is asking fictional characters for apologies and while certainly there are people threatening mangakas i can assure you that I as a so called "new wave fujo" do not condone that.

I'm sorry, but where in my rant did I say we need more dark themes in bl series lol
I was complaining about how people just now getting into bl complain about older series or tropes. I was pointing out that they lead massive harassment campaigns-- ones that myself and many others have documented btw-- where they try to ruin the lives of artists and others over cartoons just 'cause they might not like what is portrayed.
Never once was I like "yeah, we should crank that shit to an 11." I was just stating that people don't like series like this 'cause it isn't uwu soft beans falling in love. It deals with a more mature, darker theme and people are using that as an excuse to be horrendous towards those who enjoyed the series.
I'm sorry for the fact that you can't read lol

Joo Jaekyung is one character off the top of my head that I can think of seeing dozens of posts and remarks about how either himself or Mingwa needs to "apologize" for the things he's done. I've seen people say it for fictional villains in other series even outside of bl. Just 'cause you haven't seen it doesn't mean it isn't happening, hun.
Also, yeah, it doesn't deal with the themes 100% correctly. Nothing does unless you're reading medical texts or something that isn't, yanno, fictional. It's why we have series that deal with trauma, disorders, abuse and the whole shebang that aren't a 1:1 representation of how things *should* be handled in real life. It's like this because it is fictional. Obviously sex isn't going to cure someone's mental disability and the power of love isn't going to make a homophobic high schooler suddenly want to bang the cute twink that sits in the desk next to him.
People are only mad at this series 'cause of the themes in it. People call it gross 'cause of Shiro's misguided feelings towards his father as a child that became the reason for his trauma which evolved into a mental disorder. I even got into it with someone who claimed the mangaka was fetishizing them-- not their disorder-- but them as a human being when no one even knows who tf they are. It's delusional. Plain and simple.
And like I said, just 'cause you don't see it happening doesn't mean it isn't. Also, just 'cause you don't think the same way doesn't mean anyone else doesn't, either. I've spent way too much time on this site reading just about anything I can to not have the pattern recognition down to a science.
It's why I even bothered to say anything in the first place.
Since it had been a while and I'm currently waiting for my replacement volumes to come in the mail ((had a real bad outbreak of mold in a storage area I used so 50% of my manga were ruined)) and I'm honestly not surprised by the fact that new wave "fujos" are having a normal one over it now lol
It deals with more mature topics than most series that are just centered around high schoolers struggling to say "daisuki" and it wasn't afraid to add a lil taboo spice into the mix. When it was first being serialized in jp everyone loved it 'cause of how serious the subject matters were. It was made for a more mature audience that could understand that this was a fictional setting and thus could actually enjoy it from beginning to end.
Now everyone likes to circle jerk over how "morally just" they are for consuming "safe horny" shit and suck the fun and enjoyment out of anyone who thinks differently. You've got people who spend way too much time making claims of being "fetishized" when they are literally a nobody, and others who demand fictional characters write apology letters for doing something bad lol then you've got the ones who harass mangaka or their managers and fans for writing "illegal" stuff or just something they don't like in general.
This is definitely the weakest and most pathetic generation of readers I have seen in all my 20 years of reading bl/yaoi. This genre becoming mainstream was a fucking mistake lol
