i'm not a woman or lesbian but maybe it's bc yuri usually has such bad plots most of the yuri i've read was so poorly written for some reason

Well as a lesbian i read both, but I read yaoi / bls cause I can find a lot of the stuff I like (fun toxicity, abo, child raising etc) there's way less of that when you're looking for gl manga and when I find the few, I may not be a fan of the plot or the art, or im simply dissatisfiedat the fact that there's so little variety... so you enjoy what you can where you can find it! also i just enjoy bls for enjoying them sake. i dont have any sort of preference.
at least that's my personal opinion and experience!
