Considering it's Chinese manhua and some recent laws (last year onwards) censorship became even bigger so even if it's ment to be bl ( shounen ai / no smut ) we wouldn't be able to see almost anything due to laws.
I think it was ment to be bl, especially since policman guy loved the dead friend, it was clearly stated and brother of the dead guy probably should have been the 2nd love interest or something like that. But in this tye of stories many things have to be wrapped nicely so it doesn't 'promote' homosexualoty or whatever Chinese government hate so much.
Either way, story is very well written to the point I don't care if it's bl or not.
Sadly authors put the notice that they have to finish story earlier than planned so there'll be only one more season ( 3rd one I guss or just another part of 2nd season)

We got the notice from the authors in the raws, they said there will be only one more season but didn't precisely said when. It's only said that they wanted to make story longer and different but due to some circumstances had to cut it short and wrap up in upcoming season :/
is this really shounen ai or just bromance?
