Not sure where to find the Japanese raw, since I read it in the bookstore.
I really don't like how this looks. Honestly, I think I'm going to stop and just skim through the comments when there's an update. I don't like the mother. You can tell the older brother is dead inside, and yet for some reason she seems to think everything is her fault. All of a sudden your son is acting happy and your step-son is miserable. You find out they've had sex and the one you immediately blame is the one who is miserable? Wtf.
The way she sees it, Haruki is the one doing the wrong thing. Like many comments have mentioned, why didn't Haruki stop this whole thing from the get-go? (That is putting the blame on the victim, even if the comments mentioned how horrible the younger brother is)
The mother has the same thought because Haruki is older and he "enticing" her young son into this mess. I am not justifying her action, just giving some explanation as to why she is the way she is.
The story is pretty messed up. But I have seen worst and this is not really bad considering the younger brother is "in love" with Haruki. I actually am enjoying this because there is this very twisted sense of love.
Sorry for getting all weird, I studied psychology in school and these types of characters are very interesting. They have so much dimensions.
Was Haruki dumb? Hell yes. But The younger brother is NOT a victim. I once made a bad decision; I started something and didn't stop it early enough, and someone took advantage of me and ruined everything. I am not without fault, I know that, but the bad guy here is the person who took advantage of me. The younger brother is at fault.
I still think that the mother's thought process is dumb af. Just look at the two guys and you'll realize that one of them doesn't want to be in this situation.
Perception is in the eyes of the beholder; people see what they want to see. Some readers might view Haruki at fault for not stopping it earlier. For me, I see him as someone who needs help to get out of the situation. When you are looking back or looking at it from the outside, you might see ways you could have changed things. But that is not always the case when you are experiencing it. To me, he is just a guy that ended up in a terrible situation and he needs help getting out.
Senpai could have helped but messed up in the end.
The fact is, Haruki is the victim and Hikaru is the attacker.
Talking about this is reminding me of all the cases I read.
Anyway, the mother will have a hard time accepting her son is not a sweet boy. I might have some idea as to how it will end. But I am looking forward to how it will play out.
Okay, at least we agree on that much. I initially thought you were saying Hikaru was the victim, lol. Though he is, in a sense. He had horrible things happen to him. A woman was attracted to him and took advantage of him, and now he's turned into that very being that likely gave him trauma which played a large role in his current personality. On the other hand, him being a victim does not justify his actions.
I was also disappointed in senpai, but while it's so clear from our point of view, it's not as clear from his. He was cheated on, and the fact that his boyfriend was so terrified and helpless was overshadowed by the anger senpai felt for being cheated on. I hope he might eventually cool down and see things in a different light.
I think we had a misunderstanding somewhere along this conversation... and it just went weird. But we somehow ended up back to the main point...
Not sure if this is a spoiler or not.
But I think Senpai did regret how it ended I think. He regretted not treating him with more care... or something along that line
Not really a spoiler if you have read the first few chapters.
Maybe the author is making her way back to chapter 1. Someone must have died (looks like they are at a funeral) in the family.
Judging from the latest raw, I can guess who it might be.
